SERVING FIVE GREAT STATES AND THE WORLD WIDE WEB
MDRails is atypical when it comes to railroad photography in that 2 out of the 3 people responsible for the effort are women, odder still, one of them is an octogenarian. Preferring to remain anonymous, we will refer to her as "mom." Mom's own mother was a pioneering photographer with a career that stretched from 1914 to 1955. We mean "pioneering photographer" literally as she grew up in a family of western homesteaders and documented the last great settlement of soddies in the Southwestern United States under the Homestead Act. Mom assisted her mother in the 50's and now lends this new generation a helping hand. Ever curious, unflagging, and determined, she keeps us going when the chips are down. Mom has enjoyed trains since 1937, the year she first saw the Belen Doodlebug.

In her Buzz Rickson's Navy Deck Jacket, "Mom" casts a critical eye over the Belen Yard.
MDRails also consists of the mysterious KC, a professional photographer, college lab instructor, and fine art printer of long standing. KC has jumped into the new world of digital imaging with MDRails as her proving ground. We wish her the best of luck and hope she's with us for a long while, especially since she always remembers to bring lots of cold (NA) beverages along!

No "KC Moan" here, she always gets her train!
Our last member, a man called mu, aka MDRails, is a hapless Eyeore of a soul, often sanctimonious and always impatient, he's lucky if one in one thousand of his pictures turns out. His motto, "Walk softly and carry a big memory card."

Yet again, he's facing the wrong direction.
